I am the director of a sports agency named VIVI Holding in South Korea.

We have been sending soccer players to North America and Europe for many years.

Many youth players under the age of 18 want to move overseas to train at the advanced level.

Unfortunately, most only participate friendly game since they cannot join in leagues due to complex international transfer process.

After submitting transfer request documents, the players wait for acceptance and approval of the submissions several months without receiving any update on the status of application.

These young players are at the stage of life in which they need to play as much games as possible to learn new techniques and

build experience, but they are excluded from valuable opportunities of running in leagues. This gives great frustration and

discouragement to the players and their parents.

 

As their agency, I am emailing you to advocate them in this matter.

If the international transfer process for players over the age of 15 become more time-efficient and flexible, it would support many youth players to grow into professionals with exceptional skills and qualities.

There will a valid reason explaining how FIFA’s policy works. However, sports agencies, soccer associations and FIFA need to work together to meet best interests of soccer players and related staffs.

In this modern and global society, as many youth players actively move to and from different countries, I think FIFA also understand their difficulties from long process of international transfer.

I hope international transfer for youth players could be easier than now so that they can play more in leagues.

나는 한국의 비비홀딩이라고 하는 스포츠에이전시 디렉터이다.

우리는 수년간에 걸쳐서 북미나 유럽으로 축구선수들을 보내오고 있다.

 

많은 18세 이하 유스 선수들이 선진 축구를 배우기 위해

해외로 진출하기를 희망하고 있으나

불행하게도 국제 이적이 용이하지 않은 관계로

리그에는 참여하지 못하고 친선게임에만 참여할 수밖에 없다.

선수 이적 서류를 접수하고도 몇 달이 될지도 모르면서

이적서류가 승인되기를 기다려야 한다.

 

한참 경기에 참여해서 새로운 기량과 전략을 배워야 할 시기에

중요한 리그에는 정작 참여를 못 하니 부모들이나 선수들의 실망이 이만저만이 아니다.

 

 

우리는 축구선수 에이전시로서 이런 문제에 관해 그들을 대변하고자 이메일을 보낸다.

15세가 넘은 선수들에 대해서 만이라도 국제선수 이적 절차를

좀 더 신속하고 융통성 있게 해준다면

유스 선수들이 훌륭한 자질을 갖춘 프로선수로 성장하는 데 많은 도움이 될 수 있다고 생각한다.

 

물론 FIFA의 policy에도 타당한 이유가 있으리라 생각한다.

그러나 스포츠 에이전시나 각국의 축구협회,

그리고 FIFA는 축구 선수 및 관련자들의 최선의 이익을 위해 함께 협력해야 한다고 생각한다.

 

 

현대의 글로벌사회에서는 어린 스포츠 선수들의 국제간 이동이 활발하기 때문에

FIFA 역시 국제 이적의 긴 절차에서 오는 그들의 고충을 이해하리라 생각한다.

 

유스 선수들의 국제 이적 절차가 지금보다 용이해져서

그들이 리그에서 더 많이 뛸 수 있게 되기를 희망한다.
